Cottam Engineering has expertise and experience in the manufacture and repair of components for Agricultural and Earth Moving industries. We specialise in gearcutting - Spur, Helical and internal gears can be machined up to 1.5m diameter. Most of our work entails one-of products and modifications. We are situated in Corcoran Street, Berrigan NSW.

Cottam Engineering was formed in 1978 as a private manufacturing and repair company. The business now comprises two workshops with a total factory area of 720 sq met. Our highly skilled staff provide services to the surrounding rural sector, private industry and government departments. Customer satisfaction and increased productivity with highest quality of service are our objectives.
This is reflected in three areas of operation: Machine Shop manufacture or repair component parts and redesign new replacement parts.
Gear Cutting spur, helical, internal gears, internal/external splines to 1.5met. Gearbox design. Fabrication Shop welding/fabrication with 10tonne overhead travel crane, 5tonne yard crane.
Joe is a qualified Fitter and Machinist / Welder with thirty five years experience in diesel engineering, earth-moving equipment and general engineering. Joe is the business owner / manager - he has earned a high level of respect in his time in the industry, particularly in the Berrigan district. He completed a training program in the implementation of quality concepts into the business, indicating a desire to continually improve the efficiency of the enterprise. Joe Cottam formed the business on his own in 1978 operating in rented premises. The present site was purchased in 1981 and developed from the original grain storage shed, into a practical and productive machine shop with separate welding shop. Joe has a total hands-on approach to all business activities. Joe designed, built and operates the modified pulling tractor Riverina Screamer. He has been involved with Modified Tractor Pulling for 20 years. Joe is a Life Member of Berrigan Apex, an inaugural member of Berrigan and District Development Association and Chairman of SRPLCP. Cottam Engineering participated in the Bridge to Bridge 2005 Solar Car Project (adopt a school program). |
